Are You Rich?

Are you rich? You may say, “not even close.” But let’s take 30 seconds to evaluate your actual net worth.

Our wealth can be determined by different sets of values. It’s all a matter of perspective on what you would consider as wealth.

Here are some ways you may determine your personal wealth and/or the wealth of others:

  • Financial wealth, this is the most common way we all refer to as being "rich".
  • Relational wealth, our meaningful relationships with family and friends.
  • Spiritual wealth, although not tangible, brings joy, peace, and purpose.

So…are you rich? Or are you broke?

Your Heavenly Father is crazy in love with you, and He is able to give you all of these riches (2 Corinthians 9:8). Not only is He able to do so but He wants to bless you (Jeremiah 29:11). It is God’s desire to bless you so much (not just financially) that you can leave an inheritance to your grandchildren (Proverbs 13:22). No matter how financially wealthy you are, there is more to life than just that.

You may be thinking right now, “so what do I need to do?".

God isn’t waiting on you to earn His blessing. He just wants a relationship with you. He desired a relationship with you so badly in fact that He gave the ultimate sacrifice His Son, Jesus Christ to die for our sin. When we place our trust fully in God through His Son, Jesus Christ, then we are opening the floodgates of Heaven to receive His blessings (Philippians 4:19). The greatest of all blessings being a relationship with Him through His Son Jesus Christ.

We can take steps in trusting God by loving Him (Matthew 22:37), loving others (John 13:34), giving back through tithes and offerings (Proverbs 3:9), and giving our plans to Him (Proverbs 16:3). Start (or continue) taking these steps, and you will be amazed by His Faithfulness!
