This is how the first kid in KidSpring became a world-changer

Jordyn Moorhead’s Story

Watch Video

Jordyn Moorhead was only 12 years-old when she got the opportunity of a lifetime to bring the good news of Jesus to Kenya.

She was NewSpring's first baby, born to Sherry and Jason Moorhead, two of NewSpring earliest members and now staff leaders.

Learning about Jesus on her level through lesson, activities and live acting helped Jordyn make the decision to ask Jesus into her life when she was 6.

And her passion for Jesus and her confidence to reach the world for Jesus only grew from there.

A Heart to Reach The Lost

Asked to write about an influential person for a school assignment, Jordyn picked her KidSpring director, Cherie Duffey. She had been the leader who encouraged her to lead a KidSpring small group when she was only in third grade. Jordyn now prays that she will work in ministry when she grows up.

"[You] lead children on Sunday to have an awesome time and come back the next Sunday. You are Godly, loving and a strong leader. Thank you for being my inspiration," she wrote.

When a spot opened up to be part of a mission trip to Segera, Kenya, in 2013, she knew what she had to do.
